The little sister joined us for a walk with Miranda. A freshman in high school and learning how to be a big shot photographer, is a busy job. She came along for a walk while taking pictures with her 35mm for her photography class. But, like most great photographers, we had to sneak in a shot of the girl that rather be behind the lens.

A few scraps of paper, a piece of leather (or fabric), scissors, needle, thread, creative juices, and (my favorite part) fire. Have fun making your own travel journal!

Frayed Threads has a new mascot. Her name is Miranda and she’s a hugely lovable black lab. We’ve decided to start a post of the random pictures we take while taking Miss Thang for her 10 minute walks around our neighborhood of East Village, San Diego. Hope you enjoy, there will be more. Street art at its finest. Katie Sokoler carried around large paper eyes one fine Tuesday and brought the dull objects around her neighborhood some extra personality. They really do just make you smile.
