On the first of this month, we were happy to be a part of such a great event, the Lupus Foundation of America Walk for Lupus Now®. A dear friend of ours has struggled with Lupus for most of her life, now at the age of 29 she is doing well and is very strong. We admire her strength and energetic spirit, it super contagious! She was team captain and kindly named us The Big Macs. Why? We’re not sure but, it was perfect! Not only was being a part of this walk was so much fun and for such a great cause, but we also came away with a second place award!

We were shocked to find out so many people have Lupus, and its also shocking so many young people are struggling with this disease. We were happy to hit our goal at raising 500 dollars! We saw these guys a few months back at the Casbah, never heard of them before but definitely dig their style. Three guys, one girl, lots of punk attitude with a hilarious dose of humor. Really, front woman Lisa is great on stage. We wanted to be her friends, then jump on stage and toss our hair. Then run right off to safety. They just came out with a video two months ago for a great song called Cracks In The Armor.

These kids are from Los Angeles, and just a heads up, they are playing the Smashbox ’Face Off’ Opening Night Bash in Hollywood, CA at 8pm tomorrow.

San Diego is finally getting a little bit of chill in the air, and for us native southern Californian’s, that means winter. Everyone should go to December Nights at Balboa Park in San Diego this weekend. December 4-5 from 5pm-10pm, there will be lights, pumpkin carving, many museums are open and FREE! plus tons of food and drinks for everyone. It’s a great time, hope to see you all there!
